Christmas month

The month of December,img_30024939979735 is my favorite time of the year. Even though in most parts of India it doesn’t actually snow. In my imaginary world, I celebrate Christmas in a snow clad town. These imaginations are triggered by childhood favorite novel Christmas carols.

The ghost of Christmas past, present and future. The young Ebenezer Scrooge. the money he had, yet no love in him. The life he missed. The girl whom he loved yet not married, the employee who was faithful but whom he never paid well, the bitterness he harboured within himself. I can well relate myself now to Mr. Scrooge. There is not much of a difference between me and him. For that matter , between most of us and him.

I wish to change for better like no going back. Be fruitful in Christ and leave no soul untouched whom I meet from now. Live beyond calculations and money. Beyond the rat race.

And this  is not possible on own strength, own decisions. But by mediation and prayers. by likening ourselves to Christ.

By living the life to the fullest in the Lord. And no that is not renunciation. That’s the best part of Christianity. God does not demand renunciation, but asking him all we want, and getting our dreams fulfilled.

Let’s aim for the full life Christ has promised us.

” I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” John 10:10

So there is one a life, and then there is an abundant life.

The life of Ebenezer was not an abundant life. Let’s seek the Lord for this abundant life  from this Christmas.

Parlour,money and psychology..

Not everyone would agree with this..

But if u want to save money. Then the best place to cut short your expenses is in beauty parlour.

There are only 2 popular hair cuts: step and layer cut. And that too it is the same if you get it done in a small shop for 250 rs or in big lakme or vlcc saloons.

Other than hair removal waxing and threading things everything else is a lie.

The facial, cleansing, bleaching, clean up everything is a lie. And does nothing much to your face. And most of these are chemicals and better to be avoided. If you are already beautiful, then nothing much happens..and if you are not beautiful, then these wont make you beautiful.

Also, no matter what they say. Your face is tanned, you need bleaching, you need de tan, lots of dark spots, do facial, whiteheads do steaming.. outright say no ..I don’t want all that..

In my whole life have done it a few times and I can tell it is a utter waste.

When we check the face after doing these. The parlour guys say immediately we cannot see the difference, after 1 or 2 days only the glow will come. I have thought lot about how is it scientifically, that after 2 days some effect comes. Well, bcos after 2 days we wont go back and ask, glow nahin aaya. And another thing, we have a psychological feeling that we have done facial and we are pretty. So we look at ourselves and think we are pretty.

So it’s all a business and we can avoid wasting money in this..I mean u want to save money and stay away from chemicals.. and again it’s my personal view and everybody has their own choice.

Don Bosco

Throughout the world and in India we come across Don bosco educational institutions. And you know how it all began?

A man John bosco popularly known as don bosco was born in a family with many siblings and lost his father at the age of 2, leaving his mother to provide for whole family. Though John bosco was intelligent, he had to work as a shepherd and farmer and lots of other jobs and could not afford education.

Also, he studied the behaviour of boys who were rough and would often fight. At the age of 9 he had a dream of a man coming and telling that not by blows but by love you can win these friends. And that evil is bad and virtue is good. Then he had series of dreams like this.

As much he saw underprivileged and abandoned boys, he empathized with them and this later began as homes and schools for such young boys who were taught with love.

This small movement later spread across the world.

While you read this, after knowing christ, do you have a vision? Other than thinking about yourselves, do think of doing something for others? Even If it’s on a small scale, do it. Do the little bit you can for others because for them it might change their life, and who knows it might be the start of a revolution.

Fresh fruits, fish & pork

I am smitten by these people and this place. Their rich culture and lifestyle makes me question who actually is rich on earth, the ones in city with latest gadgets and technology or these people who are naturally blessed with pure water, air, dense forests, fresh fruits , fish, pork and vegetables.

I have a thousand pics to share and will do in next blogs i write. These are some of the pics. you can guess the place later.

Dalits fooled in every religion

First 2 pics are of a Christian pastor making people fall here and there in the name of anointing and the next 2 pics are of Hindus carrying Kanwar yatra, where they carry pots and walk barefoot for miles.

We can never see a brahmin or any sophisticated caste person doing this in Hinduism or Christianity. It is only the dalits and backward caste people who are made to do such manual and foolish things. If a God requires you to be fool, then leave that religion.

Though I follow christ, I read bible and pray. I too believe in anointing but not which makes people fall, for what good is falling here and there. Anointing is for us to read bible better and pray for others with zeal and other spiritual gifts, which someday I will write in detail.

Everywhere, we are fooled and kept blind, so that we remain as lesser beings.

Stay away from such masses. God is to be worshipped in sanity and a sound mind.

Thoughts on birthday

The last decade was tough. full of heartbreaks, failures, changes, sickness and few good things. But constantly Gods grace sustained me.

The 2 years when I left god as a prodigal son,the father came in search of me while I was suffering and found me, embraced me. Lesson learnt: no matter what happens in life, never leave bible and prayer.

Money I earned in the past decade is less or negligible. If I had not been married and career would have gone as I had planned, I would have had so many lacs extra by now. But instead I have a husband and son. And my son is the best thing that has happened so far in my life.

Many unfulfilled dreams and desires yet in my heart and mind. Let me see if I am able to make best out of life the coming years. But I am sure the next decade will be less turbulent and more of a predictable journey, revolving around Jaden.

My battle is now against myself. Against anger, bitterness, rage, ego, envy and hatred.

Health, happiness, safety, progress and lots of love. This is the list I want for the years ahead. Amen.

Time to be a ‘Reality show judge’

Famous actresses after marriage or child birth when offers they get reduces or their market value decreases due to other actresses  takeover, opt for this career. It pays them decent and keeps their career going, while being at home with their kids when needed. The latest being kareena in the line. It’s shocking  that despite her lineage and family being top bollywood family, after so much promotion of her pregnancy, workout after childbirth and her sons constant being in the lime light, she became a reality show judge and could not get movie offers.

Also, the wives of big actors like Shahrukh khan, Akshay Kumar and hrithik Roshan have another career line . They launch fashion brands, decome interior designers and write books and blogs, which God knows who actually does and remain discredited.

Why am I  stating these now, that these big shots have an alternative to their career. While we middle class women, working in IT industry or core companies, when after marriage or children if we want some alternative which is less time bound, yet paying decently, we fail to find one. One job which many people suggest is teaching. As it pays decent and gives time for family. But I feel teaching is a very serious job and only those passionate about making students succeed should go for it and not to just while away time.

Some girls I know have started creche or daycare, which again I will never venture into as it is very delicate job to deal with those little beings.

So there, is there a job as a reality show judge or an interior designer which these big shots do?

Ponder on this and if you come up with some idea share with me guys!!

‘Fishy’  palkova

Palkova is one of my favorite sweets. Made from milk, boiled and  condensed, added sugar to until becomes solid. Looks like this.
It has  long cooking time as we have to keep stirring the milk to avoid getting burnt. As I had excess milk at home, I started making palkova, in the heat of Gurgaon summer, standing in front of stove for a long time, was an unwanted thing to begin with. But the desire to eat palkova was so much that any effort did not matter.

After hours of stirring and making a perfect palkova. Allowed it to cool a bit, put in a bowl and sat to relish the dish. And with first spoon in mouth, goosh… I tasted  fish. Yaak..again to be sure I tried licking and tasting again without puking. Not sure of how this is happening and just to be sure, I got this tasted by hubby also. Result was the same. It was all fish+palkova taste. One of the yukkiest taste.

After wondering I realized just 2 days back, I had made fish curry in the same kadai in which made palkova. While i prepare fish curry , I never eat it, only my family does. Tamarind, coconut milk, fish, spices, all cooked for long time. Even after washing kadai, I think in molecular level, the ingredients seeped into the aluminum kadai and remained there. Or else it’s some other  scientific phenomenon i do not get yet.

Anyways, it spoilt my mood to an extent that I had vomiting sensation and an aversion of palkova anywhere for many days.

Sudden snakes

Had some sudden storms and snakes in life. I had no clue of these storms coming  and don’t know how to deal with or move forward with these. But this I know that HE who created me knows my frame and will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can handle. If you are reading this, then keep me in prayers.
